Is my tiredness due to COPD?

Exertion/feeling unwell. diagnosed with COPD 2 years ago, just come back from north Cornwall and walked the coastal trail for about 5 hours didn’t struggle anymore than my husband will walking and it is very hilly, but the next couple of days been feeling unwell, tired but no aches or pains in body is the tiredness due to the COPD?

  1. HI Tinah - First let me say it sounds like you and your husband did a LOT of hiking. I think anyone would be a little done-in. However, I certainly understand your concern. We can't diagnose via the internet, but there is no doubt COPD can cause fatigue and tiredness that is otherwise unexplained.

Here's an article about fatigue and COPD. I think you'll find it interesting. However, if the tiredness continues, I certainly would encourage you to follow up with your doctor.

    1. Hi Tinah and thanks for your post. I hope you've had a chance to review Lyn's post - she makes some excellent points and provided a link to some pertinent information for you.
Should you continue to feel tired (beyond what you normally feel), or the fatigue gets worse, you may want to check in with your physician. I also thought you might find it helpful to look over this article as well: https://copd.net/living/tired-vs-copd-tired/. Please do check back and let us know how you're doing. 1. Hi again, Tinah. It's our pleasure and we're so glad to hear you find this material to be so helpful for you. Wishing you well, Leon (site moderator)

          2. Hi Tinah,
Review Lyn Harper's post. It is true that COPD will cause more fatigue and your job is to allow yourself to take care of you when your needs are greater.
            Have a great week.
