What's up with this bloating?

  1. Such a great question! And one of the many frustrating symptoms that people diagnosed with COPD may experience. Unfortunately, doctors do not seem to be aware of a direct cause, however it seems there are a few hypotheses. The following articles discuss COPD and bloating - https://copd.net/living/bloating-part-1/, https://copd.net/living/bloating-part-2/, https://copd.net/living/3-simple-tips-for-eating-and-feeling-better/. The common solution seems to be to eat smaller meals and more awareness into what you are eating. Hope you find this helpful!

    1. I don't know either, but when I am having a flare up my stomach becomes extended. I think it can be due to the amount of air trapped in the diaphragm. The air is not being expelled it would have to go somewhere?

      1. Hi again, Creed, and thanks for your post. You are definitely not alone as many in our community have mentioned similar concerns when it comes to COPD and bloating.

We do have a number of published articles here on our COPD.net website. For your convenience, here is a link to several of them: https://copd.net/?s=bloating. I do hope you find them to be helpful.
