Anyone else have nasal cannula problems?

I have tried to find a better nasal cannula. Currently I use a Hudson because the prongs are a little longer and they have a tab below that helps keep it in place. However, the tubing consistently twists round and round. Any helpful solutions out there?

  1. Hi Nedra and thanks for your post. Professionally, there is a lot of experience with the Hudson branded nasal cannula. Over many, many years, I have little to no complaints about the device in the hospital. However, the concern you have expressed I have heard in the home environment. However, I think the twisting you're reporting is not unique to the brand but rather the length of the tubing. What do you think? Leon (site moderator)

    1. It’s not the tubing we generally speak of, it’s the double soft lines connected to the nasal prongs.

      1. That’s what I do but thanks

      2. Hi again, Nedra, and thanks for your reply indicating that is what you do already. You may want to consider one other remedy. Nasal cannulas are not expensive, You may want to ask your equipment supply company to provide you with some back up cannulas when the 'twisting' becomes unmanageable for you. They should be able to give you whatever you need. Good luck! Leon (site moderator)
