Here for Each Other: Supporting Our COPD Community
November marks COPD awareness month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and offering support to each other. This year, our theme is Here for Each Other: Supporting Our COPD Community, a reminder that none of us have to face this journey alone. Whether it's learning about oxygen therapy, adapting to lifestyle changes, or just finding joy in the small moments of life, our community stands together. Our community proves that with support, we can face each day with courage and hope.
Lifestyle changes to adapt for better health
COPD often requires changes in daily routines, such as diet and exercise. While lifestyle changes can feel overwhelming, many can find strength by focusing on small changes at a time. Our community shows that while COPD may require changes in your everyday life, it can also lead to the discovery of new hobbies and passions.

Managing COPD also means building a strong relationship with your care team. Open communication is important in order to receive the right care and treatment. It is normal to feel hesitant about discussing your concerns or intimidated when asking questions. But open communication with your doctor will lead to the best support possible. By sharing stories of challenging moments like medication changes or starting new treatments, our community can learn from each other and help build the confidence to have those important conversations with our doctors.
