Winter & Cost Of Living

Anybody Else Worried About Winter , The Cost Of Living & COPD . I am so worried I only just got through last year ... The Flue or Chest Infections Are Not COPD Sufferers Best Freinds...

  1. ,
Hi once again Martyn. I am not worried about winter, or any other season for that matter. I feel that worrying is a waste of energy. I would much rather use that energy thinking positively and keeping myself healthy. I don't worry about the cost-of-living because my wife and I just moved and are saving around 500 dollars a month as a result of lower rent, some utilities included in rent, and lower utility costs otherwise.
I keep myself healthy by a good diet, exercise, supplements to help keep my immune system strong, and taking my inhaler (Symbicort) on time daily and not missing any treatment. I keep my lungs clear daily by using my acapella and spirometer machines 5 times a day, and I keep myself away from large groups of people, especially in indoor settings. In the event I do get sick, my medical team is very responsive and are there for me. I spent last winter recovering from pneumonia, but that does not mean I am worried about this winter. Stay positive friend and take care.

    1. Yes sometimes I do have concerns about both the Cost of Living and all my medical issues. Last year was very tough for me losing 4 family members, 2 older pets and me ending up in the hospital for 5 days at the end for the year. I try very hard not to worry, but then that little worry worm shows up and I head down that rabbit hole. Usually this happens when I have quite time (insomnia time). There is things I have found to help us out (hubby and I). Lets start with some of the great responses already, using a scarf, keeping you oxygen hose warm in your coat etc... great stuff! Financially there is things you can check out and please don't let an ego thing or the thought of "others need it worse then myself" - yes these are things I use to think, truthfully still bothers me at times, but I have to just wipe them out of my mind and do what needs to be done. TIps for Cost of Living Help
