What was your COPD diagnosis process like?
Getting a COPD diagnosis can be a scary thing. It helps to know you're not the only one who's going (or already went) through it! Share about your experience here.
Has been a very bad experience thus far!!!! I feel like I am getting no where. No answers, no explanation of tests!! I have been sick since Saturday after Thanksgiving, started as pneumonia now have bronchitis with it. Second round of antibiotics and prednisone and I am no different. My Dr. seems to not want to be bothered. I am very very depressed with it all. I have never been this sick and its very scary with no medical people to help!!!!!
I logged on today to inquire if anyone is doing the Losartan study, when I saw your post..So sorry to hear your trouble. ...As a former respiratory therapist with severe emphysema, i can encourage you to definitely see a pulmonologist...and do a little research...try to find one with good reputation...Our disease is complicated. I have sometimes disagreed with my previous pulmonary, and have switched to one associated with a major hospital.
Hi (again) jerrygirl. Good to hear you are able to navigate your way through your COPD condition. It's always a positive thing to self advocate for yourself and it's gratifying to hear that you were able to change doctors when you felt the need.

Hi Sharon popp - I'm sorry to hear of the difficult time you're having, it certainly can be challenging when you first begin to deal with COPD and chronic bronchitis. I'm also disappointed to hear the way your physician is dealing with you - there is no reason for that. You may want to change doctors - look for one who is qualified (perhaps even a pulmonologist) and can provide you with more compassionate care.

Leon (site moderator)Hello, well I am seeing new Dr. glad I did it when I did cause I STILL have pneumonia!!!! She put me on a different antibiotic and a different regimen of prednisone and I am FINALLY seeing improvement!!!!! She had answers for all my questions. I left there actually feeling relieved because I got answers. I reading and researching all the time now and has been Very Helpful!!!! Thank you for your concern, that's means a lot!!!!_
