Hi Kazooblue65 and thanks for your post. It is an interesting question and one that has been expressed by others in our community. While we cannot provide medical advice (over the internet), for your own safety, your question still warrants a comment. One of the common symptoms of COPD, as you probably are aware, is a productive cough. During sleep, mucous may be produced. When awakening, and changing positions, the mucous may now stimulate a cough, which could be what you're experiencing in the morning. I thought you might find it helpful to read this article on COPD and its symptoms: https://copd.net/symptoms/ As well, if your morning cough persists or worsens, you should probably discuss it with your physician. Please check back with us and let us know how you're doing.
All the best,
Leon (site moderator)
