USE OF OXYGEN DURING PANDEMIC
Because of my concern about using portable oxygen if I go into a store. I was concerned that I would be breathing in the surrounding air straight into my nose. My doctor advised me to remove the tubing while I was in the store - make only a brief trip - but have my oxygen close by if needed immediately

Hi Olderbrit and thanks for sharing the suggestion your physician gave you with the community. I have also heard recommendations to continue using the nasal cannula with a barrier mask used simultaneously. The mask will cover the cannula and one's nose.
This is going to be a decision made by all of the folks who use supplemental oxygen and have concerns too about being outside with the oxygen and a mask.
It's always a good idea to discuss this with one's own physician.
