  1. Hi , and thanks for your post. You are definitely not alone while facing the financial challenges associated with COPD medication costs. Perhaps you could speak with your prescribing physician about the burden this places on your finances. Sometimes, the doctors are able to provide patients with samples of medication to help. As well, the doctor may be able to connect you with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), the pharmaceutical house responsible for Trelegy. The company frequently offers assistance for those patients who need it while using their medication.
    What do you think?

    1. Asked Dr. for help dr.Jackson Fayetteville Ar would not help. This year did not reach 600.pharmacy cost.

    2. , that is very frustrating and I'm sad to hear your having this experience with your doctor but you are unfortunately not alone in struggling to afford your medications. 2. It's crazy. I take Trelegy, it costs $45.00 out of the donut hole, $176.00 in the donut hole

    1. That is crazy. Do you have any supplemental insurance? - Lori (Team Member)

    2. Mine was 495. in donut hole.

  3. I have used Trelegy &after a few days I felt worse while using it. I’ve also been prescribed Symbicort but after a year or so I found it no longer did what it was in the past. Currently I am using Stiolto & Ventolin as a rescue inhaler in between attacks. I find these 2 in combination prescribed to me by my PCP are working for me at this time. Also I’m wondering if I should be seeing a Pulmonary Dr as well!?? I was APPARENTLY diagnosed w COPD in 2009 BUT never knew I had it until I was cleaning out a lot of my paperwork in 2022 to shred that I found a letter from my PCP( same one) I Was SO UPSET THAT I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT I HAD COPD from my PCP or his RN!!!!!!! What a way to find out !!!!!

    1. HI, Sorry you had to find out the way you did, not fun at all! Yes, if I were you I would check in to getting a Pulmonologist. The Pulmonologist is all about the lungs, their issues and they care, they are usually not side tracked with so many other things they are currently seeing someone for such as a PCP is. Have you ever had a Pulmonary Function Test, X-Ray and / or CT scan on your lungs to see what might be inside them? What caused the COPD, Asthma? Infections/ Viruses ? Smoking? Other chronic disease? Maybe a combination of all the above? What "Stage" are you with in the COPD? These are questions that the Pulmonologist could get you answers to with doing what they do best, LUNGS!

Please keep in mind that their is many types of doctors and specialist and they are human, can make mistakes or hiccup on telling their patients something, it's happened to many people, sad, but true. Staffing such as the RN and Techs, s same thing. The best you can do for yourself, now that you are aware is to help them along with your care, Keeping track and notifying them of any changes, stay to date on appt and or testing they wish for you to have and finally, make a list of questions before each appt that you wish to have answered and talk them over with the doctor you are seeing at that time. If you do not understand what they are telling you, ask more questions, tell them you are not understanding. Educate and advocate for your self it will only help you are this disease progresses, hopefully very slowly for all of us.

  4. My Advantage Care pays some and I have Medicare Extra Help. The Extra Help picks up nearly all of what would be the “donut hole”. On the 1st of next year the donut hole will be gone. I went to our local Social Security office to apply. BTW - I also was prescribed Trelegy. It cost me $11.
