Travel areas of heat or cold

I want to visit my son in MN. I still drive and he will come to drive. I am 2000mi away, but am too fearful of air travel at this time. He lives just over the border or La Crosse WI in MN. I live in Northern CA beautiful weather.
I don't know how I will do in the humid weather north 29in of snow in the winter months.
I would love to hear how people in those areas cope with their stage 4 COPD? Please tell me all about what to expect.
I have severe severe COPD I am 76 and have been living with this Dx for over 30yrs and somehow I still survive, I am grateful for life!

  1. I certainly understand your concerns. I hope you're able to visit your son. Coming from northern California the weather in MN will certainly be a change! Northern California is one of my favorite places in the US to visit - weather being one of the attractions. Especially compared to my home in New York.

It's good that you're thinking about how you might be affected my the humidity. Hopefully someone that has dealt with it can tell you their story, but keep in mind that everyone is different and you may have a different reaction than someone else.

While you're deciding what your going to do, here's an article that I thought had some great suggestions for dealing with heat and humidity. https://copd.net/living/humidity-trigger

Take care and let us know what you decide.
