Tips that works for me....

Tips for managing my copd symptoms are:

1. Stay calm - when I get myself all worked up - it's harder to breathe.
2. Slowing down and doing purse lip breathing.
3. Making sure my equipment is working.
4. Keeping up with my scheduled appointments.

These are some of the things that works for me through the years. I find when I'm stressed out my symptoms gets worse.

  1. HI. Thank you for sharing what you do to manage your symptoms. Your tips here involve some of the same strategies that we teach our COPD patients -- I am sure others here will find your tips helpful. Are these things that you learned on your own through trial and error? John. community moderator.

    2. Thank you for the update. Hope all is going well for you. John. community moderator

  2. I love that you mentioned keeping up with your appointments! We see so many COPD patients that come into the hospital with exacerbations because they were "feeling fine" and so didn't need to keep their scheduled appointment with their doctor.

      1. My new motto is: Slow down, sit down. Pursed lip method and the “sit down “ method work. I’m never without my emergency inhaler.
