Thankful

I'm thankful to have found a place where.people understand. Most if my family doesn't. Thank you for being here.

  1. ,
It is hard for anyone not involved with a COPD patient to fully understand how hard life is, living with COPD. I am lucky that my family actually understands. A few of my wife's friends have relatives with COPD, so they are in the know. My oldest daughter's husband has several relatives that have-to-have oxygen 24/7 due to COPD. If your family ever saw you bent over gasping for breath, they might understand. Or if they ever saw you in ICU intubated or having to undergo a lung procedure, maybe they would be more understanding. You ought to try to get them to read some articles on COPD, maybe enlighten them a little bit. I wish you nothing but the best. Good luck and God Bless.

    1. it can be so tough when family doesn't understand but we are here anytime you need someone to vent to or even just a little extra support! All the best, Sam S. (COPD.net, team member).

      1. I sympathize with you. Misunderstanding COPD comes in many different ways. “You don’t look sick” is the most common statement that frosts me! I don’t bring up the subject of COPD anymore with people.
