Swelling and bloating

Does anyone also have this bluge on the thighs the bluge is hard and painful on the muscles? It's on the inner side of my thighs
What is it?
Is it part of the bloating brought on by copd?

  1. Hi , and thanks for your post and question, it's a good one. You may be aware we cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety), but your concern certainly warrants a reply.
It is highly unlikely that a bulge in one's inner thigh area is related to the bloating that is often associated with COPD.
However, having said that, a bulge that is impinging on one's muscles and is painful, too, may call for an assessment and evaluation.
Would you consider bringing this to the attention of your doctor. If you are mentioning it here within the community, it is clearly on your mind and troublesome, too. You may want to have it looked at by a physician who knows your medical history.
    What do you think?

    1. l, I was hospitalized twice this year and then diagnosed with copd systric fibrosis. One of my lung is completely blocked, iam currently off sick leave as I can't do much with the shortness of breath and difficulty walking, going to see the specialist again in January. Wanted to know if other people also have or had the same symptom of the bulge in the thighs and hardness in those areas.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

      1. Hi again, Kreagan, and thanks for the further clarification. To have both COPD and cystic fibrosis (CF) is not that common. However, some physicians (who specialize in CF), often compare the symptoms of CF to those of COPD. They are both obstructive diseases although the etiologies are different.
It's good that you shared your story here with the community. Many of our members will relate to what you are going through.
I understand your concern about the bulge on the inner thigh. My thought, even now knowing you have cystic fibrosis and COPD, remains the same. It is still unlikely that it is related to the bloating you feel. My suggestion would be for you to investigate this further with your doctor. If it continues to be your concern (as it should be since it is painful), you owe it to yourself to look into this when you are able to.
Enjoy the holiday and please do check back and let us know how this all turns out for you.
        Warmly,
