Steroids

Does your skin go back to normal when you stop taking steroids? I've been taking 10mg for about 5 years and my new doctor is finally going to ween me off of them. I would like to know if the thin skin and brusing go away sooner or later. My arms and legs look like someone beat me up. It's just from my dog and me bumping on things. I was also glad to know I'm not the only COPD person who wets themselves.

  1. Hi. Welcome to our COPD community. It is great that your doctor is working on a plan to wean you off of steroids. Thinning of the skin and bruising sometimes goes away after stopping long-term steroids. Although, results may vary from person to person. This may be a great topic to discuss with your doctor who knows you best and can provide insight into what changes you can expect once you are off steroids. What do you think?
