sick and tired of being sick and tired

COPD, I've had it longer than I can remember. I drag around my tubing of oxygen at home , I have a oxygo to carry when I can make it to the car. It's heavy, my husband carries my purse and extra batteries for my portable oxygen . thank god. it's a chore. I have to sit and catch my breath when I get there .
It's a constant battle to breath. I get frustrated and then lazy to do anything like exercise, which I should be doing more of.
Oh how I wish it never got to this . I have to wear depends, walk with a walker or cane and like I said , sick and tired of being sick and tired .

  1. Sending you a big hug tonight. I know it doesn't fix it, but we really do understand and you're not alone here. Feel free to talk with us as much as you want. Thinking of you! -Melissa, copd.net team

    1. , contending with one's mortality can be really difficult and we are here to offer you any support we can, our community is always here to talk! We aren't professional counselors but I do have some resources I can share: https://copd.net/mental-health/coping-general-resources All the best, Sam S. (COPD team).

    2. I don't live anywhere near you, but I would love to hear from you. I have been going through a flare-up and all kinds of associated illnesses for a month now, and thinking about dying has been on my mind too.

  2. Don't forget the old-lady metal chair and dangling sprayer in the tub! It destroys the ambiance in my bathroom. Actually, that one is helpful, if I get the energy to take a shower-bath. They're all helpful, in their own ways, but every time I go in the bathroom, it reminds me of when I was a Realtor, showing someone a house, and how it was obvious it was an old lady who lived there.
I also use the Oxy-Go, and my husband carries it all. Usually, I am out of breath in about two minutes, and lean on the counter to catch my breath. Over and over and over. I also don't like to exercise. And the more I let stuff stack up on me, the madder I get. I hear you. I have to talk myself out of it. It will ruin my day if I don't. It's all just stuff. We do what we have to do. I hope you are also able to talk yourself into appreciating the good things. And sometimes, we're just mad. Feel free to vent any time.

    1. that sounds so pretty.

    2. one day at a time,it ain't easy

  3. I feel the same way, but have found when I have the energy, I make a list of what needs to be done. It really helps, especially when I get to put a check mark on a done job. I may miss a day, but every little helps. Even making phone calls is hard. Showering is really hard, because as soon as I start to dry myself, i have to sit down to breathe. It makes me feel good when I do get a job done, even if it is only washing a cup.

    1. Finding accomplishment in little things! One of my mottos!! You go girl!
