Shortness of Breath

Does anyone else feel very Short of Breath at times, yet your O2 is 94-98? My doctor does not seem concerned since the O2 is good, but I feel like I can't breathe at times. Just wondering if I am alone on this?

  1. Hi Bobby and thanks for the excellent inquiry. While you may get responses from the community, I did want to tell you that 'shortness of breath' is a very common symptom of COPD. It can be present both with or without lowered oxygen levels. I believe this article from our website will provide considerable insight for your concern: https://copd.net/symptoms/shortness-of-breath/

    1. yes, bobbi, i have the same situation. i think there might be something i don’t know. also, my pulse goes up around104-110 till i regain my breath.

      1. Hi larryrr and thanks for sharing your experience with us. One of the first responses of the body to low oxygen is an increased heart rate. In the most general of terms, if your shortness of breath is due to a low oxygen level, it might explain your elevated pulse rate until you catch your breath and normalize. Please remember this is meant to be a possible explanation for what you describe. I would suggest you discuss this further with your physician if these symptoms you describe persist or worsen.

        1. I am on oxygen and get short of breath just walking out the sidewalk. Anything physical makes me lose my breath.
