  1. Hi Catherine, and thanks for sharing your recent medical history with the community. I know you have posted similar concerns elsewhere on our community platform which have received responses already.
To address this concern of yours, many of our community members are living long, productive and rewarding lives with this condition.
In fact, there are lifestyle changes which actually help to slow the progression of the disease. I thought you might gain some additional insight for your concern, from this article: https://copd.net/living/progress-can-be-slowed.
I am hopeful others in the community will read about your concern and chime in to share their own personal experiences here with you.
Please know, you are always welcome in our community. If there is anything we can assist you with, please let me or any other moderator / team member know.
    All the best,
    Leon (site moderator COPD.net)

    1. Hi Catherine, I was diaganosed in my early 50's and am now 77. My biggest help was pulmonary rehab, they teach you how to breathe and other useful things and the exercise keeps you moving!! Unfortunately COVID derailed me and I have gone downhill since. I didn't catch covid but I quit leaving my house and exercising etc and haven't been able to get that back. JUST KEEP MOVING!!!

      1. As far as I know, you can do pulmonary rehab more than once. My grandmother went a few times, and each time she was able to make significant progress. It might be worth talking to your doctor or insurance company to see what's possible. Hugs to you! -Melissa, team member
