Can prednisone be prescribed for daily usage?

  1. Hi Buster66 and thanks for your question. While we cannot provide medical advice over the internet (for your own safety), your inquiry does warrant a comment. This is a rather broad based question concerning the medication prednisone. This particular medication has several indications and can be prescribed a variety of ways. It's all dependent on the diagnosis, the patient, and the physician intent.
It would be best for you to ask this type of question to the physician who is your health care provider. In view of your concern as it relates to prednisone, I thought you might find it helpful to read this article on 'corticosteroids': https://copd.net/treatment/medication-overview/corticosteroids/.
Please check back with us and let us know how you're doing.

    1. I've asked my doctor this 100 times lol and the answer is always the same, no.
I don't remember why but you could ask your doctor for other forms of anti-inflammatory medication. I'm currently taking an allergy medication. I'll soon get a URI or pneumonia so she wants to hold off on the big medications.

      1. Thanks for the answers! I did ask my pulmonary doctor if I should and he said "no"
In fact he said: no, no and no; and I said: why, why and why; and he talked about things like osteoporosis and other conditions that I don't need at this stage.

        1. Thanks for the update, Buster66, we appreciate being made aware of the interaction between you and your physician.
