Hi HOPS and thanks for your question. While I'm hopeful you may hear from others with their own personal experiences, I would like to give you some suggestions which you may find helpful.
If you haven't already, you can try different variations of securing the excess length to the bedpost, bedside table or bed leg, depending on your bedroom This may minimize the availability of the extra length of hose that can be permitting the tubing to get wrapped around your neck. If the cannula is secured in the 'over the ears, under the chin' style this may help. It will keep the tubing taut but not restrictive.
