Oxygen tubing kinking or rolling up.

I beleive I have solved my kinking and rolling up. It does not trip me anymore.
First I must tell you that 1) I have COPD. 2) I live in a 2 level town home and I can't go upstair or downstairs because I fall down them a lot. I have to go flown to wash my clothes. But that's another story.
I have a Inogen G3. I love it
Anyway I have used the command small cable holders and hung my tubing on the wall just below the ceiling. That keeps it form rolling up and or kinking.
I also made my own valve that I can shut off the upstairs tubing and open up the one I use to go down stairs. Works well.
Now when I'm downstairs I use the extensions. I used the 7 inch ones. The smaller you get the better it works. Use the connecter to put them together. It may cost a bit more to do this but you don't have to replace them as you due your cannula. Oh if you didn't know you can cut an glue the tubing to make what ever you want or need.
Best thing I've done since I found out I have COPD and conjestive heart problem.
If you have questions please text me.

  1. How ingenious! Thank you for sharing that. As you know, tubing kinking and being a trip hazard is a common theme for people on home oxygen. This may be just the post they needed to see.

    1. Hmmm! Interesting. I have some questions:
      1. Can you identify the glue you are using that works with this tubing?
      2. Can you tell us in detail about this valve, what it is made of, and how you made it?

I've been waiting for my portable concentrator for months and have no idea when it will come. Right now I just have the home concentrator, so I can't travel.

One thing I've learned about the tubing is that you want to use the longest ones available, so that you have the smallest number of connectors possible, since each connector lowers the gas pressure in the hose after it. By experimenting I learned that more than 3 connectors maximum between me and the concentrator lowers the pressure too much and I don't get enough air. This is even more an issue for those folks who use higher pressures. My setting is at 3lpm. I cannot use too long of hoses or too many connectors as I cannot then get enough air, even when turning the machine up.

If glue joints could be done well enough to not cause any restriction, I could use longer lengths. Right now, Ican only reach 3/4ths of my house, so if I have to go farther, I take my 02 off for those trips, like when I have to go to the front door, or the thermostat, etc. I would need 80 feet or more and using regular hoses and connectors I cannot achieve sufficient pressure at the far end. Any assistance is appreciated.

        What do you think?

      1. here I'm attaching a picture of the glue I use with my connector and cut tubing from an old tub. Glue used
