Melinda

I was diagnosed with COPD a few years ago it's getting worse and it scares me. I was also diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease 3 weeks ago. My anxiety and depression is going through the roof I can't sleep I've tried different things to help me sleep. Swallowing is hard lately I am not on oxygen yet it's been a year since I've seen my specialists sorry to be such a whiner I am just overwhelmed I do try to take it one day at a time and try to think positive.

  1. Hi Janet it's nice to hear from you thank you so much for the links you sent me, I will make good use of them. I excercise about 30 minutes a day which helps motivate me as far as Drs I am seeing my primary and neurologist for Parkinson I have not seeny COPD Dr for about a year but it is time my breathing is labored and the phlegm has worsened my oxygen level is 96 do you know when the Dr finally puts you on Oxygen? Have a blessed day tomorrow

    1. Hi melinda, and thanks for your post. I cannot presume to answer for @Janet Plank, but I am sure when she sees your inquiry, she will personally answer you too.
I also have something to add.
You may be aware this disease affects everyone differently. As such, each patient will be evaluated for their specific level of disease as to when oxygen may be necessary. You may want to discuss that further with your pulmonary physician.
In the meanwhile, I thought you might gain some additional insight from this article: https://copd.net/living/qualifying-home-oxygen It is authored by our own John Bottrell. I hope you find it to be helpful in a practical way.
      What do you think?
