How wonderful that you are a potential candidate for a lung transplant, . I have a friend whose son has cystic fibrosis and recently had his third. Each transplant has lasted at least ten years if not more. If you do get the surgery, I hope you fair at least as well. One of our health leaders wrote about a lung transplant experience in this article: https://copd.net/living/a-transplant-story. I thought it might interest you. I hope you get responses from others in the community and that you feel well prepared to make a decision. Keep us posted if you don't mind. I will be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)

Hi Cynthia! Just to clarify, were you approved for a transplant? Do you have a surgery date yet? I hope you'll be able to have it done and, most importantly, that you see fantastic improvement afterward. All the best! -Melissa, team member

Hello I am very blessed to be a Double Lung survivor in Aug 2022. I was End Stage COPD with 12% lung capacity here in Canada. It is a very intensive procedure from testing through till coming home. I know the Toronto General in Ontario has a very substantial amount of information as I'm sure yours does as well. Please feel free to reach out anytime with your questions or concerns. @JeffreyCollings (COPD Team member)
