Just told I have restrictive lung disease, told I have chronic bronchitis???

For nearly a year, I've had monthly or weekly trips to the ER unable to breath, along with other symptoms. Just last week they told me:

Dr. # 2 told me I have trouble breathing in, restrictive lung disease.
Dr. # 1 told me I have chronic bronchitis -- isn't that obstructive not restrictive?
Dr. # 1 also told me I do not have COPD (which previously she said I did.)
Also told I have pulmonary hypertension 39-41 which does not need to be treated.
Told I have asthma, which I have never previously had.
Told I have sleep apnea which is being treated with oxygen.
Told I have congestive heart failure, which is being treated with meds.
Advair just switched to inhaled steroid due to interactions with heart med.
Other than that NO treatment plan for Pulmonary Hypertension.

  1. Hi Cera, and thanks for your post.
It can be challenging to receive different information from various doctors in the ER.

Are you being followed by your own physician? From the different information you've been given in the emergency department, it may be better for you to see one doctor who can pull all your diagnoses together. What do you think?

    All the best,

    1. Hello Cera, I think you needed a 3rd opinion on this matter.
