Is anyone having problems finding a comparable Salter SOft nasal cannula?

I've been using the 1ft nasal cannula and tubing with a swivel but they are getting very scarce out there. The prongs are much shorter and definitely softer than any other brand I've tried. I just purchased the last 2 that I could find at Direct Home Medical online. Amazon used to carry them but no longer does. I read somewhere that Salter was permanently closed? I really need a new source for a comfortable, short nasal cannula and tubing. Thanks if you can help!

  1. I am not sure if this will help but we do have some information on types of nasal cannulas: https://copd.net/living/choosing-nasal-cannula Hopefully it can give you some ideas of another type to try if they indeed do stop making it. I can't stand when medical companies stop making aids and drugs without much or any warning sometimes, it has happened to me before and it is extremely frustrating! Keep on keepin' on, DPM

    1. Hi. I see you received a good response from Daniel. Have you had a chance to look over his response? I also have something to contribute. It's true that Salter Labs has faced some challenges recently. But, based on my research, they haven't permanently closed. However, supply chain issues might be contributing to shortages. If you’re looking for a comfortable, short nasal cannula and tubing like the 1ft version you’ve been using, you might want to try checking with other home medical supply stores, such as CPAP.com, Vitality Medical, or Health Supplies Plus. There may also be supply stores in your area too that have them. Some pharmacies may also carry these specific products or can special order them for you. You could also try reaching out to Salter Labs directly for guidance on where to purchase their products or inquire if they have any updates on availability. Hope this helps, and best of luck finding what you need! John. community moderator
