How do you deal with a lack of energy?

I just can’t seem to get motivated to get out and do anything. Some days it’s hard to just get myself out of bed. Not physically but mentally. Is anyone experience the same and how did you get over this?

  1. Hi Rvmike, thank you for reaching out! I hear how much you are struggling with your energy level. Low energy is a common struggle for those living with COPD. It is hard when it takes so much more energy for the body to breathe! I thought these articles might be of interest to you:

    1. I have the same problem. Most days I do not want to get out of bed, but I have to, so that I can take my medication. Once I am out of bed and moving around, I start feeling better. I have to say that it is not only COPD that I suffer from, I also have Dystonia. ( Look it up ) I also have chronic heart condition. High blood pressure.e.t.c . I am having to take 23 tablets each day. BUT HEY I STILL WORK FULL TIME.!!! I Make the best out of life that I can. It's not ideal, but it it is not so bad. So my advice is push yourself out of bed each morning and get on with it.!!! If I can do it so CAN YOU!!! YOURS Colin Checkley.

      1. Hi Guildford234 and thanks for contributing to this thread started by Rvmike (above). You certainly are dealing with medical challenges all around. It's your positive attitude and 'can do' spirit that help to manage the various conditions you shared with the community. And, working full-time too! It's all very inspiring. Keep up the good work! 2. Hi Guildford234,
Having a full time job can be really tough with COPD. Congratulations.
It's that CAN DO attitude that will see you though.

    2. Hi Rvmike
First and foremost you must give yourself permission to rest when you need to rest and sleep late if you can. A flexible schedule is best if at all possible.
Find a reason to get up in the morning and embrace the day. Create a reason to push yourself.
      Good luck
