Hi to all

I had a letter from hospital saying that I have obstructive lung defect
which I presume is Copd my husband has copd himself and I've always been a passive smoker cus he refused to smoke outside.

I have had a lung spirometery at hospital which inhaler would I need as I've had loads when they said it was asthma when it wasn't.

What do I do now my Fev is 1.91 and myFVC is 2.74.

Doctors R really slow sorting me medication and my breathlessness gets worse.

  1. Hi. Thank you for your post and inquiry. I see you are new to our community. Glad to see you already here participating in the forums. That is nice that the hospital sent you a letter informing you as to your current diagnosis. It is good to stay informed this way. Based on what you have shared with us here, I would think the next course of action would be to ask your question here to your personal physician, who knows you best. He or she should be able to clarify what the letter was about, and help you better understand your current situation. And, of course, I am sure that your doctor will share with you what he or she thinks is the best course of action for you moving forward. What do you think? Also we have an article that explains what the lung spirometry (PFT) test. I will post it here for you to review if you want (https://copd.net/clinical/what-is-pulmonary-function-testing. Hope this helps. And wishing you all the best. John. copd.net community moderator.
