    1. Hi (Jimmy), and welcome! It is understandable that you might have a certain level of anxiety since you are anticipating this surgical procedure for suspected lung cancer.
In order to know more about the upcoming procedure and, to have a better understanding of what you can expect following the operation, I would suggest you make appointments with both the surgeon (who is performing the procedure), and the medical doctor(s), who will be providing your care post operatively and in to the future. The team of doctors should be able to provide you with a better idea of what you can expect moving forward.
Naturally, if there is anything we can do to assist you, please let me or any other moderator / team member know.

I thought you might be interested in this explanation about COPD and COLD. Interestingly enough, many years ago, before the standardization of the nomenclature was formalized, we sometimes referred to this disease as chronic obstructive lung disease (COLD), as well as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
I have seen folks write it both ways to this day!!

Please know you are always welcome here in our online community.
      All the best,
      Leon (site moderator COPD.net)
