How do I handle a smoky atmosphere?

Here in northern Montana it's forest fire season, so it can get bad even though I am 60 miles from the Rockies.

  1. Hi Roger and thanks for your post. This is a challenging situation as it is completely environmental, and you're talking about your home, and you may be sensitive to the smoke, which is why I'm guessing you made your inquiry.
I would say the best advice would be to stay indoors and keep your air conditioner on. Limit your activity in the outdoors. If you need to go out and are using your car/truck, keep the windows closed, the air conditioner on and use the 'recirculate' feature. You may want to use a mask that covers your nose and mouth as an additional precaution if you find that is helpful for you.

I'm hopeful others will chime in with their suggestions too.
Please check back with us and let us know how you're doing.
    Good luck!

    1. Hi Leon,Thank you for your response, I can well imagine that someone in a large city would have the same issues with smog also. I've discovered that a damp mask helps even more with particulates in the air if it's really bad outside.

    2. It's our pleasure Roger. And, you're right, city folks do have issues with pollution and smog in the urban environment. A damp mask sounds like it will really be of help. Thanks for sharing that with us.
      Warm regards,
