  1. Millie51,
I had mycobacterial pneumonia, a bronchoscopy to check things out and repair some areas that were causing bleeding in my lungs, and also a biopsy. I was in ICU for 5 days. I got out of the hospital and it was at least two months before I even had enough energy to take a shower. I had to take baths before that because I had no energy at all. I slept at least 14 hours a day for weeks. But I eventually gained my energy and strength back in about 4 months or so. It is a major drain on your system to recover from these types of medical problems. Talk to your medical team about your anxiety, and what you can do to help regain your energy. Take care and God Bless.

    1. HI , and thanks for your post and update. I am sorry to hear what you have been through and understand that you are home now. Generally speaking, it is a sign of progress when a patient who, during a hospitalization, required oxygen therapy, no longer needs it shortly after discharge.
Remember, based on what you've shared here, this was a significant medical issue for which you were treated. To have been admitted with bacterial pneumonia, undergone a biopsy as well as a bronchoscopy, is a serious medical intervention. Add to that your COPD diagnosis and this was a lot for one person (you!), to endure.
Please, try to be patient and kind with yourself. If you can, slow your life's pace down a bit and give yourself a chance to rest and recover. Are you scheduled for a follow-up visit with your doctor(s)?
Please, do let us hear back from you - we have a genuine concern for your good health!
      All the best,
      Leon (site moderator COPD.net)
