For my family.

Stage 4, o2 24/7 21% lung capacity. I’m tired of explaining myself and how I’m feeling and that it’s just not me but all of us with COPD who are experiencing the same. Has anybody ever written a note to explain to family members what’s happening. I would like some way to show that I’m not the only one in this situation and that I’m not lazy, crazy or making it up. Maybe then they will understand.

  1. So sorry you are going through something like this, it's frustrating I know. I never wrote a note to my family when they were giving me a hard time about a different health issue, but what I did tell them is that they could come to my next doctors appointment with me and ask all the questions they wanted of the doctor and / or nurses. If you are not up to that, then could always invite them to come here copd.net and search through or even sign up and ask questions, let them know they are more then capable of searching the world wide web to see that you are telling them the truth. Or print off some information to share with each and every one of them. If they don't feel like educating themselves in any of the 4 above forms mentioned above then let them know they have "No Right" to question what you tell them. Sounds little rude I know, but then again how are they treating you? I so hope this matter can be settled soon for you, it is not fun at all nor fair to you this is happening. I so wish you the best.

    1. Thank you 😊

  2. Is it too late to write that letter now? Why not just get started ? Take the time you need to let them know your thoughts. Know that I am in your corner, Barbara Moore (Moderator)
