Can I get a flu vaccine while on antibiotics and steroids?
I started antibiotics and steroids today due to being more breathless and coughing more mucus. I had the flu 3 weeks ago. My vaccine is due while I’ll still be on both medications. Is it best to postpone it?
Hi Georgina, you should always wait a couple of weeks after taking Antibiotics and Steroids for the flu jab. Hope you start to feel better soon.

While we cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety), your concern certainly warrants a reply.
I would suggest the actual decision as to whether you should take the flu vaccine, while on the antibiotics and steroids, should be made in concert with your physician. My experience has shown there is no real schedule for the flu vaccine - it should be taken at some point prior to the flu season starting. Again, please check this out with your physician and let us know what you find out for this circumstance.
