flare ups

It seems when I overdo my excercising, I tend to cause an exacerbation. I do not understand how I can get stronger physically if I do not increase my exercising. Need anyone's knowledge on this. Thank you
Lura

  1. Hi Lura (smile890), and thanks for your post - you've posed an interesting dilemma. Others in the community have expressed similar sentiments when it comes to exercising often times precipitating an exacerbation, so you are definitely not alone!
You may want to discuss this, at length, with your physician. He should be able to guide you towards a suitable exercise routine (possibly a light or less strenuous routine), that is advisable for your particular condition. Some folks are advised to take a treatment, or a dose of a metered dose inhaler (MDI), prior to starting exercise. Others may keep an inhaler handy during the exercise routine. You may be able to collaborate with your own physician to insure that you are able to do some type of exercise and not aggravate the condition.
    What do you think?

    All the best,
