What is the difference between DuoNeb vs Spiriva?

Can someone compare DuoNeb vs Spiriva for me and their benefits?

  1. Hi derick and thanks for your inquiry. Here is the information on Spiriva: https://copd.net/treatment/medication-overview/medications/spiriva-respimat-spiriva-handihaler/. The medication in spiriva is a long acting muscarinic agent (LAMA) called tiotropium bromide.

The DuoNeb inhaler combines two medications: Ipratropium bromide and Albuterol.

The medications are somewhat different and you can see the Spiriva has but one medication while the DuoNeb combines two.

This brief answer is meant to be but a very general response to your inquiry. You may want to look further (on our website and/or the internet) for more detail. What exactly are you looking to learn about these medications?

    2. Hello. Insurance won’t pay for Spiriva or charge way too much. I have been buying my Spiriva through PricePro Pharmacy in Canada for years. 3 months supply is less than $80.

      1. I am sorry to hear that Spirivia is so expensive here, but glad to hear purchasing them in Canada is working out. Thanks for sharing with us. ~Melanie Merritt (COPD.net team member)
