Hi Pammay, I am also new to all of this, even though I was diagnosed 7 years ago. It has not been a real problem for me until just recently when I experienced an Exacerbation which is still keeping me quite sick and holding me down. I also did not receive any stage, or even any diagnosis about where I am at with Emphysema. I note that Lori (above) suggests that doctors are reluctant to assign a stage because every COPD journey is different. However, I have read all the 4 Stages, and it is fairly clear how they are categorised - as to how much reduction in your breathing compared to the average person. I am visiting my doctor when I am better and feel more up to it, and this is a question I would like an answer to - what stage am I at .. to me it's important to know where you are. I suppose CT is the big scan test and not sure what you mean by watching one nodule .. perhaps this is something special with you. This whole thing is extremely overwhelming and I feel the same - that I am not coping well either. I think we can forgive ourselves that, because this is really a lot to cope with. I hope you are feeling better soon, and that you feel more confidence in yourself and the future (I want the same for myself).
