COPD exacerbation
The flu morped into COPD last Friday. I called my pulmonologist on Monday only to be told he couldn't return my call until Thursday!!! I've never heard of such a thing. Called my primary. He prescribed prednisone tapering dose. Today (Wednesday) is day #2. My O2 sat runs between 93 and 97 on 2 L basal cannula. How long b4 the prednisone kicks in???

. How maddening that your pulminologist would make you wait that long. Are you happy with this doctor otherwise or do you think someone new might be better? I am no medical expert, but from what I understand, prednisone can take between one and four days to be fully effective. Are you feeling any better now? Are your flu symptoms improving? If ever you get nervous about your symptoms or afraid for your safety, you can always go to the ER. Better to play it safe. Sending lots of healing vibes your way. - Lori (Team Member)
