Anyone else on Trelegy? I have a dosing question..

My Trelegy is affordable (barely) till July then the price shoots up to several hundred dollars. Has anyone ever had success in taking it every other day as opposed to daily? I'm new here so I hope this hasn't been asked a lot.

  1. Hi again, rsteele, and thanks for this post and question - it's a good one. I'm hopeful others in the community will see your inquiry and respond by sharing their own experiences.
In general, medication should be taken as it's prescribed by one's physician. I know this seems fairly obvious but it is surprising how many folks I've seen adjust their own medication regimen, often times to their serious detriment.
Having said that, I also understand the challenging financial impact the cost of medication can pose for many patients.
Sadly, I have extensive experience dealing with patients who have titrated their medication dosages (both up and down), and witnessed (sometimes) disastrous results and outcomes.
You may want to discuss your concerns with your prescribing physician. Sometimes the doctor and the pharmaceutical company can help with the financial burden the cost places on patients.
    What do you think?

    1. Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried financial aid but but it didn't work out. My doctor was able to give me a coupon for the first 6 months then that was that. So I will take probably take a friend's offer to get it from Mexico, which is very close. It's only $65 there with no insurance involved. I just don't like putting her to all that trouble.

    2. I hear you, rsteele! Thanks for your response and further explanation. That will be a considerable savings and probably make it a lot easier for you to stay compliant with the medication regimen.
Please do check back and let us know how this works out for you!
      Good luck!
      All the best,

  2. You might also try a Canadian pharmacy. My husband was prescribed eye drops that were exhorbitantly priced, not covered by Humana, and essential. We found them in Canada at one quarter

    1. Thank you for the suggestion, I will check it out!

  3. The cost of medication can be such a hinderance! It sounds like you've got a plan, but I want to make sure you know that quite often the coupons through the pharmaceutical company can be extended if you reapply. You have to go to the website and fill out the form -it's at least worth a try. Hopefully one of the other options will work for you, but just in case...
