Can an air cooling fan be used in a room with an oxygen concentrator?

Can you use an air cooling fan in a room where you have an oxygen concentrator?

  1. I find I sleep better with my ceiling fan on low, with or without a/c, even in the winter. I cannot stand it if the air doesn't move.

    1. Hi camaur and thanks for your post. Thanks for sharing what works well for you with air movement and your condition. Others will read your anecdotal experience and may get some ideas for themselves. We appreciate your input! Leon (site moderator)

    2. I find I sleep way better with fans (2) of them going all night. I also sleep with an oxygen concentrator. I have never had a problem but I would urge you to be careful to have an electrician have a look to make sure that your service can carry the load.

  2. Hi Kathleengreen:
I have been using a fan as well as an air purifier in the same room as my o2 generator.
Thanks for the response Leon, I had never thought to ask about this!

  3. Hi Kathleengreen and thanks for your inquiry. Although we cannot provide medical advice over the internet (for your own safety), your concern certainly warrants a reply. In the most general of terms, you should be able to use an electric fan for cooling in the same area you're using the oxygen concentrator. It's always best to use 3-pronged (grounded) electrical connections and to insure the equipment is in good working order with electrical wires that are not frayed or cracked (leakage). You may also want to check this out with your equipment supply company (the ones who provided you with the oxygen concentrator). I thought you might also want to look over this article on this very topic: I'm sure you'll find it to be helpful and provide you with further insight. All the best, Leon (site moderator)
