Thank you for your post, It’s great to hear that your doctor thinks Zephyr valves might help you. As a respiratory therapist, I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference these valves can make for some patients. I even had the chance to interview one of my patients who received them. You can read about her experience here: (https://copd.net/living/zephyr-valves).
While I’m not certain if she was at stage 4, I do know she was using supplemental oxygen and was able to reduce her oxygen needs after the procedure. She also reported breathing much more easily.
We’ve also had some great discussions about Zephyr valves in our community. You might find this one helpful. I will atach here (https://copd.net/forums/lung-procedures) one of those discussions. If you scroll down the comments you will find one lady who said she was in stage 4 COPD when she had the procedure, and she talks about how well they worked for her.
I hope this information gives you some encouragement. If you have any specific questions or concerns, feel free to ask—our community is here to support you! Wishing you all the best. John. community moderator.
