I'm having the opposite issue. I've gained about 20 lbs in the past 4 months and can't seem to lose it. I'm working with a lot of smoothies right now.

Hi TKemp81 and thanks for your post here in this forum. Based on your expressed concern, I thought you might find it helpful to look over this article on COPD and weight management: https://copd.net/living-with-copd/pulmonary-rehab/weight-management/. Have you had an opportunity to discuss your weight concern with your physician? Leon (site moderator)

That's a great idea, Earline. Please let us know how you're doing by adding smoothies to your diet.
Good luck!

Hi again, Earlene. Again, you are not alone in your experience with gaining weight with COPD. For some people, they find themselves gaining weight while others indicate they lose weight. Everyone is affected differently. We do have some material related to COPD and weight - I thought you might find it helpful to look it over when you have a chance: https://copd.net/living-with-copd/pulmonary-rehab/weight-management/.
Warm regards,

thanks janet i say a dietitian twice all he said after reading my food diary was change to semi skimmed milk when i told him i had been only drinking skimmed milk i was told that there was nothing he could do and that i should join a gym. my weight has not changed for 10 years so im obviously doing something right i just cant lose it. i did pulmery rehab and quite enjoyed it and physio terrorisiam yes theyve been interesting and i still carry out the excersises. i know that if i can lose just a bit of weight then i will be able to do more had more loss will will follow. its the first bit thats the problem.
