Hi Shelia and thanks for your post. Other members in our community have expressed similar issues when it comes to weight and good nutrition. In view of your concerns, I thought you might find it helpful to read this material on good nutrition with COPD: https://copd.net/living-with-copd/pulmonary-rehab/weight-management/

I wish I could give you some of my weight....lol....So far I can't seem to lose weight I'm starting to walk much as I can. In Sept. 2015 They took a mass out on the outside of my lung they removed the lower section of my right lung. With all that being said no matter what I do I can't lose weight while in the hospital I gained 45 lbs.
I take albuterol with the breathing machine twice a day I also take symbicort twice a day and when I go to walmart I have to use Pro Air inhaler to rescue me. Does my meds keep me from losing weight???? My wife says get on a walking machine at the club house...NOW this is interesting
If I use the stand up walking machine I don't last long at all,BUT if I use the machine that I set down and move my leggs I can go a mile on it with out having to rest.
I am open to suggestions???????

thanks janet i say a dietitian twice all he said after reading my food diary was change to semi skimmed milk when i told him i had been only drinking skimmed milk i was told that there was nothing he could do and that i should join a gym. my weight has not changed for 10 years so im obviously doing something right i just cant lose it. i did pulmery rehab and quite enjoyed it and physio terrorisiam yes theyve been interesting and i still carry out the excersises. i know that if i can lose just a bit of weight then i will be able to do more had more loss will will follow. its the first bit thats the problem.
