Treatment Progress!

I had an eventful and very positive outcome from my telehealth visit with my Dr. yesterday. She is taking great care of me and is very responsive. Things I learned or got from it :

1) My last month's blood work showed I am within normal range on most all parameters. Which means the edema (fluid buildup in my feet/ankles) is likely, I think, diet-related. More on that later. She will be putting me on a diuretic now for that, and I will monitor my weight daily for clues.

2) As I cannot currently travel, They are coming to me to conduct a lung function test. It will be my first, and hopefully a starting point from which to strive for improvement. Meanwhile, she is going to see if arrangements can be made for transport to my pulmonologist.

3) She will be here next week to give me my first covid shot. This necessitates (for me) medical supervision, as I am severely allergic to anti-histamines, and sometimes have anaphylactic reactions to shots, and flu shots always make me ill. They will bring epinephrine.

4) She wrote me an order for a portable concentrator, to be provided by Medicare.

My Nurse also visited, looked at my feet/ankles, and agreed on the diuretic. Also, my ribs are now officially healed. The tech who gave me my heart ultrasound six weeks ago was a bit overzealous and bruised my ribs badly. This is my first week to be able to take a deep breath without pain since then. Much better!

That's my report for now. Comments?
