Nebulizer treatment

What are the most effective medications used in nebulizer treatments for very advanced emphysema? I do not want steroids! Currently using Brovana which only helps a little. Thank you for any advice.

  1. Hi - thanks for your post and question - it's a good one.
When it comes to using medication for nebulization, there are many choices available on the market today.
In order to have a better understanding as to which medication would be best suited to your particular level of disease, it would be best for you to speak with your private medical doctor (PMD). Your PMD will know you and your disease best and be able to guide you most properly in this regard.
I thought you might find it helpful to review this material which focuses on the various medications used to treat COPD. This may be of value for you before you discuss this with your physician.
    What do you think?

    1. Thank you also ! I’m kind of in the middle of having a pulmonologist to help me since I just changed to a new one who doesn’t know me well enough. Can you please provide the link to the nebulizer meds? I can review them and check the side effects and then discuss them with my Dr. Thank you!

      1. Hi Kitt - I am so sorry I neglected to provide the link for the material to which I referred in my initial response to you! Without further ado - here it is: https://copd.net/treatment/medication-overview.
You'll find, as an overview, this material speaks to a broad range of medications used to treat COPD. I think it will provide you with a broader scope for your conversation with the new pulmonologist. If you are afforded sufficient time with the doctor, this conversation should go well.
If you don't mind, kindly check back and let us know how this all turns out for you.
        Good luck!
