RSV

Hi all, this latest respiratory virus has me so scared I won't even look up information about it. I just don't want to know. I do this, I bury my head in the sand when it comes to bad things that are happening or might happen. I know the better way would be to learn all I can about what is bothering me & I will eventually but I'm wondering how others cope with this sort of thing. Thank you

  1. Hi Trevose, and thanks for your candor in expressing these deep feelings of yours and sharing them with the community. It's understandable, with all the media attention devoted to viruses this fall, how you might feel this way.
My view is to stay vigilant and cautious. I continue to wear a mask in heavily crowded locations (which I am not in often, at all). I have taken the fall flu vaccination and, 2 weeks later I took the bivalent COVID booster. My family has done the same.
I am hopeful others in the community will see your concern and respond by sharing their own anecdotal experiences managing this virus and their health in general.
I do hope you found this brief reply was helpful for you.
    All the best,
    Leon (site moderator COPD.net)

    1. Thank you Leon, yes I still wear a mask when I go out, mainly to Drs. appts., I'm vaccinated & boosted. It's just every time you think it's safe to go back in the water, so to speak lol, some new stress comes along.

      1. Thanks for letting me vent, I needed that.

      2. Hi trevose - I am happy to provide you with an ear and a head to listen to you.
You are always welcome here in our online community!
If there is anything we can do to assist you, please let me or any other moderator / team member know.
        Warm regards,
        Leon (site moderator COPD.net)

    2. We all need to vent! Have all my COVID shots and flu shot. You pray for the best but prepare for the worst. We have to do what we think is best for us. Knowledge is power.
