Peer Pressure

I started smoking in high school because my friends smoked and I didn't want to be different, so I started also. After nearly 40 years (and COPD) I finally quit.

  1. Hi najoh, and thanks for sharing your story here in the forums section. You are certainly not alone having started smoking so many years ago in high school. There is nothing quite like 'peer pressure' coercing people to do things they might not normally do on their own.
However, I think that congratulations are in order. The 'congrats' are for you nanjoh! After 40 long years, you have quit smoking!! That is a genuine accomplishment - one you can truly be proud of.
    Keep up the good work!
    Wishing you well,
    Leon (site moderator COPD.net)

    1. Good for you, nanjoh! Everyone is vulnerable to peer pressure, even adults. I'm glad you found the courage to quit. How is it going? We are here to support you! -Melissa, copd.net team
