If you use supplemental oxygen, which kind do you use?

Do you use a portable oxygen concentrator or a metal oxygen tank with a regulator?

Not sure what you mean. I have a machine at home and a 60 foot tube. I am prescribed at 2 this is set at 2, it is not regulated. The oxygen flows all the time. I have canisters to leave the house-these are regulated. On very bad days the regulated are hard to use.

Hi Frogger - Thanks for chiming in about your usage. It sounds like the concentrator is your friend on days that are not as easy to breath. I've often thought that lugging around one of the tanks when you're short of breath can's be easy. Do you think that's part of it? - Lyn (site moderator)

Lyn, Frogger - Lugging around a tank is not easy. But I use a backpack for mine and it's not too bad.
The reason I use tanks is that I need 4 lpm as I travel around. Portable concentrators can usually generate a maximum of up to 3 lpm.

Hi again, Frogger, and thanks for chiming in here. I see that my colleagues, Lyn and Kevin, have already responded to you.
As Lyn said, it sounds like you are fairly comfortable while at home, but when you leave the house, and have to use the oxygen cylinders, that can pose some difficulty in maneuvering. Kevin has indicated he uses a back pack to help with the heavy cylinder. Do you think that might work for you?
