Only resident in assisted living with 2 tanks on wheelchair no automatic doors to go thru need to ask for assistance staff not helpful ?

Hi . I wish the staff was more helpful. How awful that there are no automatic doors. I am no legal expert, but it seems that would be required by code. You are a resident, not a prisoner. You shouldn't have to feel trapped. Every long-term nursing facility, including assisted living facilities, should have at least one ombudsman who will advocate for you. The contact information should be posted where it is readily accessible. If it is not, please demand that they provide the information and then contact your ombudsman for help.
