Need advice

I'm 38 year old male, I've been complaining to my doctor's for over 5 years about my breathing, chest pains & blue skin for them to tell me it's just anxiety & it's all on my head, after a recent stay in hospital due to a number of chest infections & other problems, I had a CT scan which showed severe bullous emphysema with multiple giant bullae in both lungs, after a lung function test it showed I have an fev1 37% & further tests show I have a bode score of 8, after switching doctors they came across a scan from 2014 which showed I had it at the time but was mild & they never followed it up or even told me I had the disease, how accurate is the life expectancy as I'm told I may not have long left, 18% I'll be here in 4 years, is this right??

I have no idea how your lifespan at this point is calculated. I wonder why you did not change doctors 5 years ago. Do you have a pulmonologist? You certainly need one. I would imagine you can get some kind of treatment plan from a pulmonologist to help you breathe better. I would also think a good pulmonologist would do whatever necessary to help clear up your lungs as much as possible. That could be medications, possible surgeries, oxygen, pulmonary therapy, etc. Hang in there and don't give up getting better. Take care and God Bless.
