Nebulizer meds

Confused on what meds to take. My Doc has me on Albueterol, Ipratropirium, budesonide and Brovana. All nebulized meds. Im reading more and more that Ipratropirium and Budesonide don't need to be used if I am not experiencing a flare up. The articles say Brovana should suffice under normal conditions because laba's and saba's might not be beneficial under normal conditions. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!!

  1. Oh, I understand where you are at with multiple meds. My suggestion would be to contact your doctors office and let them know you have concerns about your medications. Ask if the doctor or his nurse could call you back ASAP if you are not connected to one of them right away. Of course if you have more questions once you are connected to them, ask away!

The articles you are reading, do they state what "normal conditions" means in reference to their research? Do you fall in to that "normal conditions" ?

Another thing I found out via asking questions such as you are is that many medications have dual purpose, might be from the same "family" but there is that little bit of a difference that might give you a better boost. Example from my personal experience and my lung problems is azithromycin ( Z-pack, antibiotic). It is prescribed for my lungs 250mg once a day continuous. Hmmm, yes I had to ask why? It was then explained to me via doctor that the low dose helps with inflammation with in the lungs. I know right. Well then off to research such a thing. At first nothing showed in reference to the lungs, until I changed my search perimeters, then I found it.

Again, with that it's always best to go back and ask those that prescribed the meds, the answer could be interesting to say the least.

    Good Luck!

    1. Hi Kimbal, and welcome! I see you are a new member here, having joined yesterday midday! We are glad to see you already engaging with the community, through these, your first few posts.
I see our fellow community member, , has already responded and I think she has made some good suggestions. I do hope you have an opportunity to look over her comment.
I also, have something to say. In addition to bringing your concerns to your prescribing physician, you may also want to consider speaking with your dispensing pharmacist. These professionals tend to be a good resource and can sometimes have an in depth understanding of how medications work, and guide you as well.
      What do you think?
