  1. , I hear how difficult it can be to contend with COPD, especially when our family isn't there as much for us. Please know that we are here to offer you any support we can, whenever you need it. You are not alone here in our community! There are so many people who know exactly what you are going through. While we are not professional counselors, I can private message you some additional resources if you would like. Wishing you a peaceful day. All the best, Sam S. (COPD.net, team member).

    1. Hi-I am new to this group and also have COPD. It is very lonely but I try to stay positive. My COPD is progressing a little scary. I don't like to talk to my kids about it. They are aware but don't know how far it is. I live with my oldest daughter and try to hide alot. I will talk to you anytime you need.

      1. Did you find a Dr on your own that does this procedure and did you have to have a referral? I think I found one not to far from me. I am not on oxygen yet and hope to keep it that way with possibly having this procedure done

      2. Luckily, my pulmonologist was a pioneer in this procedure, one of only two in the state at that time. He suggested it. But I am sure there are many more who do it now. I would start with google, and see if you can find someone local.

    2. I think we all feel depressed sometimes, due to our circumstances and situations, but we don't have to stay there. I always feel better just from walking outside and sitting on the porch in the sunlight for a little while. Exercise also helps me quite a lot, even though I never jump at the thought of doing it, so I have to push myself a bit! If you are limited physically with what you can do, try yoga or tai chi. I so hope you can find joy in your life again. Hugs.

      1. Hi Kaye - thank you for jumping in here and sharing those aspects of your day that help you to get through it. Like you, I find myself 'pushing' myself to walk. If I am being good, I aim for 7-days a week. By doing that, I am able to get out there at least 4 days a week doing between 2 1/2 and 3 miles. Once I am up there (the local boardwalk), everything improves for me, so I know just what you mean! I do hope , has an opportunity to look all of this over and it helps her/him.
Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend!

    3. I feel like you do alot, although I try to be out going and stay busy - which isn't always easy. I still work 8-5 but can see in the near future that will have to change. I just do office work, but I really wear out before 8 hours are up. Just keep talking to this group, all the admin's are wonderful and offer such great information and words of encouragement. God bless you, and I send hugs your way.
