Medical Device Supplier

My oxygen supplier has never contacted me other than when I reach out to them or order items. In fact, when my concentrator stopped working, it took over 7 calls, and over 1 1/2 weeks to get me a newer, functioning model. Do others have the same experience with their supplier?

  1. Hi Joe B and thanks for your post. While others may respond with their own personal experiences with medical suppliers, I can tell you this is NOT the way they are supposed to take care of you. Once the equipment is installed in your home, they really should be checking it out on a regular basis. When they do, that's great; but when they don't, you may want to contact the clinical supervisor. As well, when the equipment malfunctions, they should be responsive in a timely manner, usually within 24 hours. You may want to check with your prescribing physician about your experiences with this supplier. If necessary, you may want to seek out an alternate company who is more responsible and responsive.

    1. I never hear from my medical supplier except for the bill I receive each month. I end up buying my canulas and tubing on Amazon. No filter changes for my concentrator, nothing from them in over a year and a half. I'm on my last tank of oxygen so I'm going to need to get in touch with them soon.

      1. Hi tigermom and thanks for your post. As I mentioned to Joe B (above), your experience is disappointing to hear. Most importantly, the equipment supplier (who is adept at billing you monthly) should also be servicing your account on a regular basis as well. I would urge you to contact them directly, speak with a clinical supervisor and make your dissatisfaction and disappointment known. It you still do not get the service that you're entitled to, I would then take your concerns up with your prescribing physician. It may be time to switch providers. Sometimes, smaller companies seem to be able to provide more individual and timely attention to their clients/patients. It's encouraging to hear this from you.
