Was told nothing 3 years ago when I got sick now have copd and pretty much found out when I went to get my inhaler that I had it

  1. I'm so sorry to hear that's how you found out. You'll have lots of questions so be sure and write them down for when you go to the doctor next. Read some of the articles on here. There is sooo much you can learn. And of course you can always ask the community here. Answers are to be found everywhere.

    1. Thank you for your reply. I truly feel like I am dying. Went to the er they took ekg lung ex a ray and said nothing changed in 3 years. And I had no pockets in my lungs why can't I breath

      1. I hear how difficult things have been for you lately. When you went to the doctor were they able to offer any insight into why your tests haven't changed but your symptoms have? If not, maybe you can ask them for some more information or maybe getting a second opinion will help. In the meantime here are some articles on shortness of breath that you might find helpful: https://copd.net/symptoms/shortness-of-breath, https://copd.net/clinical/breathlessness-vs-oxygen-saturation. All the best, Sam S. (COPD.net, team member).

    2. Book an appointment with your doctor ro a nurse and ask them to explain was lung condition you have and what you can do to help keep it at bay. They need to provide you all the information not just give you an inhaler and say you have COPD. That is not good enough. Wishing you the very best of luck.
